The Dome on Sun Princess

ICRAVE designed ‘The Dome’, a world-first multidimensional concert venue aboard the Sun Princess, the largest ship in the Princess Cruises fleet. Spanning 9,494 sq ft, it is the first true glass-enclosed dome on a cruise ship and features a multilevel, multipurpose space with a sunlit pool, a stage for starlit immersive shows, and expansive ocean views, enhancing the guest experience.

Commissioned in 2018 and launched in 2024, the 175,500-ton, 4,300-guest Sun Princess is the next generation of luxury cruise ships and offers an array of exciting new entertainment offerings.

By day, guests find a pool lit by sunlight. At night, a stage is illuminated by starlight.

To fulfill its many roles, we created a truly adaptive space. A motorized hydraulic stage system, jointly designed with TAIT Towers, seamlessly transforms the pool into an entertainment venue, with lighting effects, immersive screens and sound installations that adjust to suit the performance. This innovation ensures functionality and aesthetic congruency between day and night use within the limited floor plan.
